Description

Shadow Horses  is the debut collection of poetry from Limerick  poet Bridget Wallace and it takes place Sunday 21st Feb in The Hunt Museum at 3.00pm  Bridget’s work has been described by fellow poet Teri Murray, as  ‘displaying a rare maturity and insight … wonderfully written, yet disturbing’.

The book is published by Revival Press (an imprint of The Limerick Writers’ Centre) under their Community Publishing initiative and will be launched by Mairtin O Briain. All are welcome to attend.

Bridget Wallace is a native of Limerick city. Started writing poetry in the late 1990’s and has published individual poems in a variety of magazines. Her short collection of poetry was featured in the anthology Sextet (Revival Press, 2010). Bridget has read her work at the Wednesday night poetry sessions in the White House, Limerick at ‘On The Nail’, Cuisle Poetry Festival and  ‘Over the Edge’ in Galway. In 2012 she was a guest poet at Crawley Wordfest, UK. In 2015 Bridget won the Viva Voce poetry competition at Eigse Michael Hartnett in Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick.

Bridget has a Ph.D. in English Literature and has taught English Literature for ‘Oscail’ the Irish Open University, based in DCU. She has also taught a creative writing course at Limerick Writers’ Centre and has facilitated a range of workshops for various interest groups, such as the ICA and Active Retirement. She has adjudicated several poetry competitions, and currently facilitates creative writing and art programmes for adults with intellectual disability.
