The Limerick Writers’ Centre presents:
Growing the Story – Two day intensive Fiction Writing Course
Sat 18 and Sun 19th August 2018 10.30 am to 5.30 pm
This course covers key aspects of fiction writing – point of view, characterisation, plot, dialogue, story-process, pace and the art of storytelling – and looks at how the writer grows their story towards completion. The weekend will include process and feedback on participants writing and is suitable for fiction writers of all genres, including short stories and novels.

Helen Blackhurst is a published novelist and has taught creative writing in a wide range of settings, including schools, community groups and hospitals.
Her first novel ‘Swimming On Dry Land,’ was published by Seren in 2015. Helen has had work featured in ‘The Stinging Fly Literary Magazine’. One of her short stories was broadcast on RTE 1 – Radio Telefis Eireann as part of The Francis MacManus Short Story Competition .
Helen has received literary bursaries from the Arts Council and is currently working on her third novel.
