Description

Emma Clohessy is a poet based in East Cork. Having worked in accountancy, ACCA, Emma was introduced to Creative Writing by UCC in 2010. Since then, she has been published in many journals in Ireland, UK and US, including Poetry Ireland, The Holly Bough, A New
Ulster, The Writers’ Journal – New York, The Galway Review, The Echo, and Spillwords. Emma’s poetry has also been released in numerous anthologies including: ‘Painting Words’ (2025), ‘Midleton Golden Miscellany’ (2024), ‘Chasing Shadows’ (2022) and ‘Midleton
Miscellany’ (2019). Short listed by Saolta Arts (2023 and 2024), along with The Independent’s New Irish Writing (2022), and long listed by Fish Publishing in 2013 and 2014. bShe has been invited to read her poetry all over Ireland, at festivals and local radio stations.
Emma’s Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama, awarded by the University of West London 2014, allows her facilitate workshops for authors who wish to improve their reading and performance in public.
