Description

Margaret Galvin writes with the searing honesty of an observant child, offering snapshots of life growing up in the ’60’s and ’70’s with the maturity and understanding of an adult. Her poems are sharp and yet gentle, telling the truth of things, laying bare the harshness of the times, alongside the love for family and community.

This is a collection that blends magic with the mundane, honesty with curiosity, imagination and reflection, bringing the reader into her world with the deftness of a master wordsmith. You will find humour and heartbreak in equal measure, but most of all honesty, and memories told with the pen of a poet whose words carve images with delicate precision.
