The Ruby Dance is the debut poetry collection by Hannah Kiely. In the collection she covers emotions of love, loss, family and her sense of place.

This is a brave, honest and at times painful collection of poems that have to be written and poems that Kiely feels she has to render to enable her find her voice, a voice that needs to be heard.

Description

Originally from Cappoquin, Co Waterford, Hannah Kiely has lived in, and travelled to, many places all over the world. She now lives in Clarinbridge, Co Galway, with her family.

Hannah has been actively involved in many aspects of life in Galway for a number of years, in particular business and cultural organisations and in a volunteer capacity with many charities.

After retiring early, Hannah commenced a Masters in Writing which finally gave her the tools to put together a writing habit she had nurtured for many years.

Kiely’s poetry has appeared in many publications. She has been shortlisted in HOWL and Skylight47 Open Submission.

She has also been published in Pendemic.ie, Spilling Cocoa Over Martin Amis,  Smashingtimes.ie,  Waterford News & Star Festival 2022,  Galway Music Residency and RTE Sunday Miscellany.

Kiely was a featured reader at Over the Edge in 2013 and at Cúirt as part of the Mná2016 Bardic Breakfast series.

Kiely holds degrees from University of Galway, Atlantic Technological University and a Masters in Writing from University of Galway.
