Thank you for your support during 2019. Below are some of our many highlights of the past year. We hope you have enjoyed being part of our community and we look forward to an exciting year for the Limerick Writers’ Centre in 2020.

This year we held a total of 129 events made up of 12 ‘On the Nail’ Literary Gatherings, 26 poetry events during April Is Poetry Month in Limerick, 3 Bring Your Limericks to Limerick events, 4 Lunchtime Poetry at the Hunt Museum events, 16 books published, 3 Poetry Circle events, 1 Samhain Festival event and 50 Acoustic Club events plus 13 workshops.

We have had a host of local, national and international writers and performers take part in these events. Despite receiving no funding support for 2020 we will be continuing to grow our events programme nationally in 2020. Thanks to our partners from this year: The People’s Museum of Limerick, Limerick City Library,The Hunt Museum, Nelly’s Café, Sexton’s Bar, Charlie Malone’s Bar and the Mid-West Regional Drugs and Alcohol Forum amongst others. We published a total of 16 books during 2019 and celebrated our 98th title in December, making us the largest independent publisher in Limerick. We also released 2 CDs of music from The Acoustic Club, showcasing local singer/songwriters.
