‘Angela’s Rambling House’ to Reign in Night Time Audiences.

The Rambling House concept has been described as one of the best night’s entertainment and craic that can be experienced. Now, as part of Limerick Night Time Economy Project, the Limerick Writer’s Centre and The People’s Museum of Limerick bring you ‘Angela’s Rambling House’ to take place in the Coach House of The People’s Museum of Limerick, Pery Square on Thursday 19th Sept starting at 7.30pm, with more shows promised for Oct. And it’s free entry for the public!

As the name suggests ‘Angela’s Rambling House’ casts a knowing nod to Frank McCourt’s ‘Angela’s Ashes’ and our Bean a Ti, local poet Sheila Fitzpatrick O’Donnell ,will be enlightening us about a little known secret revealed in the book! Of course Sheila’s now famous Poetry Chair will be present for all the poets to sit in and read their poems.

Of course a ‘Rambling House’ without the usual mix of stories, song and craic would be remiss, so expect lots of singing and humourous story telling from our guests! The organisers promise something for all ages from 8 to 80!

Those taking part include: seanchai and poet  John Carew, actor and playwright Carrie Barrett, musicians/singers Phila Grace, Ken Mackessy, Larry de Cleir, Ciaran and Margaret O’Driscoll plus many more guests!

For those not familiar with the Rambling House concept, perhaps the best known exponent of the genre is Lyracampawn Co Kerry native and one tim presenter on the much adored Radio Luimni, Joe Harrington. He has been touring the Irish Rambling House since the early 2000s throughout Ireland and the UK.

‘Angela’s Rambling House’ is taking place as part of the Limerick Night Time Economy Project financed by Limerick City and County Council with assistance from The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
