Join us for the spirited sounds of traditional Irish music, heartfelt songs, captivating stories, and the rhythmic tapping of dancing feet. Plus we expect to hear lots of Samhain stories and songs! This new night time cultural experience promises to become a cherished fixture in Limerick’s vibrant arts scene. Casting a knowing nod to Frank McCourt and Angela’s Ashes, the ‘rain of Limerick’ will once again got referenced on the night.
Hosted again by the charismatic Bean an Tí (woman of the house) Sheila Fitzpatrick O’Donnell, we will fill the historic People’s Museum with an atmosphere of warmth and excitement.
This initiative is the result of a collaborative effort between the Limerick Writers’ Centre and The People’s Museum of Limerick, with support from Limerick City and County Council and their night time economy initiative. By creating this platform, they aim to nurture and showcase the wealth of traditional talent in the region, while also providing a unique night time entertainment option for locals and visitors alike.
Angela’s Rambling House represents more than just an evening of entertainment; it’s a celebration of Irish heritage, a fostering of community bonds, and a bridge between generations. In an age of digital distractions, it offers a refreshing return to the simple joys of live performance and shared experience.
