Revival Press invite you to the launch of MATHIC by Donal O’Flynn Fri 24th Nov Schoolyard Theatre, Charleville, Co. Cork 8.00pm.
Mathic is loosely based on my imagined recording of discussions, over a period of a few years preceding 2022, between four companions, from the North Cork/South Limerick area. Two of these companions I imagine as Masters of their Crafts (Macrawn and the Priest), and two as Acolytes, starting out on their journey of Truth’s discovery (Thomás and Mary).

Mathic follows their imaginary life journey forwards and backwards during this period, and records some of their discussions and thoughts on varying subjects of the supernatural.
Strange happenings in Ballyclough, Bruree, Effin and Buttevant!
The seer Macrawn brings German folk-heroes, Greek Gods, Zoroastrianism, Crusaders, Witches, Buddhists, the mysteries of sacred signs and rubrics, and much much more, all gathered together within the confines of North Cork and West Limerick, to his companions in conversation.
This is a poem of epic proportions, with an impressive historical scope, dealing with the eternal mysteries, the unanswered questions of our human existence,
Donal is to be congratulated for his enormous and brave undertaking, which Carl Gustav Jung would have surely admired and applauded.
— Ciaran O’Driscoll, Aosdána poet and novelist.
