Bua ag Caitríona Lane, Conamara, i gComórtas Filíochta Séamus Ó Cinnéide 2026

Tá Ionad Scríbhneoirí Luimnigh fíor-bhródúil as Caitríona Lane a fhógairt mar bhuaiteoir Chomórtas Filíochta Séamus Ó Cinnéide na bliana seo, comórtas a dhéanann ceiliúradh ar an nua-fhilíocht sa Gaeilge. Roghnaíodh a dán, “Duan na fuiseoige”, as beagnach 50 iontráil (a tháinig isteach ó thrí mhór-roinn éagsúla timpeall na cruinne). B’é an file agus an t-eagarthóir Tomás Ó Coileáin an breitheamh arís i mbliana.

What We Are Doing

Limerick has long been celebrated for arts, culture and heritage and you only have to look at some of its natives, which include Pulitzer Prize winning author, Frank McCourt; novelists Kate O’Brien, Michael Curtin, Maeve Kelly, Criostoir O’Flynn and lately Kevin Barry and Donal Ryan. Limerick poets have also contributed widely to our literary heritage with Michael Hogan, Desmond O’Grady, John Liddy…to name but a few, proving that literature and writing is one of the major creative activities that the Treaty City can be proud of.
