Always Pushing The Pull Door is a book of poems by Mark Whelan with illustrations by Thomas Delohery  in two sections, the first section: Poemtraits of Richard Harris, are poems which were written to commemorate the life of the Limerick born actor, and are a response to the works of Clare artist Thomas Delohery, whose exhibition to commemorate Richard Harris titled: Richard Harris: A Life premiered at Friars Gate Killmallock October 2006, after which it toured various venues in the Limerick and Mid-West region. The second section titled The Story of a Poem as a Small Town/The Yellow Shark Chronicles Volumes I and II, is a response to the composition Yellow Shark by Frank Zappa as performed by the Ensemble Modern.
