In this delightful collection, Frank Farrelly’s kaleidoscopic vision captures intimate moments with stunning precision – from the claustrophobic intensity of boarding school life to the complexities of teaching in modern, multicultural Ireland. His poems unfold like miniature films, weaving together startling imagery and compelling narratives that explore love, migration, childhood, and the weight of European histories. With subtle humor and unflinching compassion, Farrelly moves effortlessly between personal memories and global perspectives, creating finely-wrought narratives that demand repeated reading. Whether set in Pefkos, Zagreb, Paris, or home, these worldly-wise poems reveal hidden treasures in everyday experiences while tackling life’s challenges head-on, establishing Farrelly as one of Ireland’s most insightful and elegant poetic voices.
