The Limerick Writers’ Centre is pleased to announce a mentoring service for poets. The service is aimed at those who are at intermediate level and beyond; looking to move to the next stage in their poetry writing – perhaps putting together a collection. Published poets will also find this helpful, they will be encouraged to stretch themselves and their writing and take their work forward. The service operates on a one-to-one basis with three 45 minute sessions over a 7 to 10 day period, plus email correspondence. Meeting will take place through Skype or Zoom. The organisers of the Bring Your Limericks to Limerick Competition have made the difficult decision to cancel this years competition final due to take place Sat 22nd Aug 2020 in Dolans Music Venue. Considering the unpredictability of travel as well as the safety and comfort of our participants and audience we feel that this is the right step to take. The Limerick Writers’ Centre Announce the Winner of the Desmond O’Grady International Poetry Competition 2020.

The winners, and commended poems, of the Desmond O’Grady International Poetry Competition 2020 were announced tonight by judge John Liddy. The winning poems will be posted on the  Limerick Writers’ Centre website, with the judge’s comments.
